Please bring this information to the attention of any friends or neighbours that may be interested in sending their child(ren) to our school.
In order to make provision for new families moving into the area it is important that we be informed as soon as possible when families are leaving or are intending to leave the school.

Cumann na mbunscol champions again!
Congratulations to our Boys team who won the county Division One title on May 35th last in Cusack Park. The team is captained by Jason Macken and John Kiernan from 6th class. There are thirty three boys on the panel and every one of them have worked very diligently all year and contributed to our famous victory. Mr. Nigel Boardman put a huge effort into preparing the team and organising all the matches played since September 2013. Thanks also to Mrs. Ronnie Cole, Ms. Aileen Leavy, Mr. Jim Rock and Coralstown-Kinnegad GAA club.
Congrats also to the Girls team, captained by Favour Okafor, who won a very close Division One Shield final. Thank you to Mr. Corcoran and Ms. Spellman for their sterling efforts with this team over the year.
Many thanks also to all the families and members of the wider community who showed their support for both teams.

The concert took place in The Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar on May 11th and it was a fantastic display of the talent available in St. Etchens.

Chess
Our school recently hosted the regional schools chess tournament (on Feb 15) with 32 players from four schools involved.
After 48 gripping chess matches and a nail biting finish, St. Etchens emerged as tournament winners by the narrowest of margins. Thanks to all those who took part in and helped out with the event on the day and thanks also to Mr. Corcoran and Ms. Logan who ran chess club for 5th and 6th classes throughout the winter months.
